Mr. Gibson's personal beliefs are at odds with his own church's catechism. No wonder his docudrama is a distortion. See the movie for what it is ... a perhaps fatally-flawed view of history, at worst, and a flawed view of history, at best ... artfully, although inaccurately presented. It is good film literature ... but bad history. The ADL is rightfully threatened as, through his flawed/fatally-flawed view of history, Mr. Gibson presents Jews, in general, and the then extant Jewish priests, specifically, as complicit with the Romans.
