I get irked by non-clippers too, for it makes digest mode quite difficult to go through. However, top/bottom is a different issue from ... ummm... full context abuse.
Btw, thanks for the quick little background on the ADB setup. Now that I think about it, there are probably more Macs with ADB than there are with SWIM floppy drives.
