One thought, never install any software from your ISP (at least for
"easy" connectivity). The Mac is set up already to do what you need to
do. I'm really suprised that an ISP put together something for Mac OS!

Maybe try trashing the TCP/IP preferences and see if the control panel
is restored? If not, reinstall the controll panel. There may some other
things that should be trashed as well.

Personally, I'd (and do) set the machines up to use static IP address'.
It's quite simple really. You could read how do do this on the
IPNetRouter website. They've some dandy tutorials there.

connect     manually
yourMac     192.168.0.2
yourPC      192.168.0.3
router      192.168.0.1  (gateway on the PC)
subnet      255.255.255.0
DNS         from your ISP

That is the LAN 1/2, you must have the WAN side working already?
