Your feeling is right :)

The 5500/225 is the same board as a 6500/225 - which is not only faster in
Clock Speed terms but also has Twice the VRAM (1024x768, thousands of
colors), but also has 2D/3D ATI Graphics Acceleration and will more than
likely have a Level2 Cache card. The only advantage of a 6400 I can think of
is that you can get an extra 8MB out of the 6400 board, but who's going to
notice that?

Go for the 5500. You won't regret it :)
