What would be the best RAM memory to install in my 7300/500? I would like to
install two 128MB RAM sticks for now. Some people have recommended using
only the 2K refresh RAM sticks. Are there any particular brands that are
more reliable?

People are mis-informed. All 128mb dimms made in recent years, possibly ever, have been 4K refresh.

I get my memory at Data Memory Systems <http://www.datamem.com>, no bad DIMMS, ever, out of a a couple gigabytes purchased through them.

I've gotten one mis-packaged Powerbook SIMM from them, promptly and courteously exchanged. I got one mis-ordered Powerbook Simm from them, *also* promptly and courteously exchanged. No restocking fee. Good folks.

Right now 128meg sticks are $24 each. EDO memory (usable in your 7300, is even cheaper at $19) Buy a few, rip out all your old memory and use it for christmas ornaments or mobile elements or whatever. You will save yourself endless headaches.

(Mine was that all of a sudden my internal SCSI bus vanished and my G4 upgrade stopped working. getting rid of all but the 4K refresh chips cured the problem.)
