I'm using a pretty generic USB card and it works great in my old 7300. I've had no problems with printers and CD burners. I used a LaCie USB burner (at least it was a LaCie enclosure; not sure about the CD burner itself) a couple years ago and it worked just fine. Just make sure the burner has plenty of cache.
