Perhaps you have sent it back and folk are right that it is looking like a
faulty upgrade. But I recall having trouble when fiddling about with an
upgrade (not your brand) This is what finally got me success after similar
blank screen stuff: I got up the extension manager when I could and chose
base OS and added a couple of important extensions one for the upgrade,
saved this extension set and set it to be the next startup configuration. I
then did my thing with the upgrade (never mind that it was fiddling with the
jumpers for clockspeed/bus settings). And bingo... Better try this if you
have the chance. (To sum up: put in old card, do above, put in new card,
press firmly and cuda and all that stuff, and fire up and see?)

Just one other thing: they say that upgrades are fussy with Ram sticks, if
above suggestions don't work, pull some RAM and try with less, rotate etc
etc)

Have I missed your OS? You using 8.6 or 9 or 9.1? I know nothing about
higher and I would at least try one of these.
