I've got a PowerMac 9600 and it appears the ethernet card is no longer working, I can't connect to the internet via my cable modem and Comcast. (Tech support calls w/ Comcast have resulted in good connection results on their end)

Can I just buy a new one and stick it in one of my many PCI expansion slots?

[ Non-techie alert! Please respond with minimal technical jargon - I'm a graphic designer and don't know much about computer innards. I added a USB card once. That's the most I've ever done.]
