Scott Richter, the spammer that runs OptInRealBig.com, recently did an interview with InfoWorld magazine (19 Apr 2004 issue).

His company sends 50 to 250 million spams per day.

"Charging roughly $200 per million messages, the company pulls in two million dollars a month in revenue - advertising everything from Iraq's Most Wanted [playing cards] to the inevitable male supplements."

An advertising industry trade group estimates that spammers will book $3.5 billion in revenues for 2004. And that the anti-spam software market will do around $1 billion.

FWIW,
- Dan.
