My 10 year old son jammed a zip disk into the zip drive on his 6500
when it wasn't powered up. Now all I get is a clicking noise. Is there
anyway to get the disk out of the drive without destroying one or the
other?

Ouch! Zip drives can be a bit finicky so I hope you are lucky!

If you pop the top of the 6500 and remove the front bezel, you should
be able to slide the drive out of the case (after disconnecting the
power and SCSI cables).

Then, looking at the back of the drive, there is a small hole used
for the "universal Mac disk removal tool" (a straightened paperclip).

Press it in and the disk should pop out.

it does not work with just startin and holding the mousekey pressed until it spits out during restart ?
