Kim,

I'm not sure you need the SMC software. On my LAN (albeit only five devices), I'm using an SMC barrcade to connect to a wet-11 and then wirelessly to a T-1 and I've never loaded the SMC software. I just use the barricade's web interface. Easy as pie. My machines are runnning OS X 10.3, OS 9.1, OS 8.6 and (embarrased to say) Windows XP home. Although I rarely have to get into the SMC, it's easy to access from any of the devices throught the web interface. If your SMC has a web interface, try it before you upgrade your OS. If the interface meets your needs, you'll have no trouble upgrading your OS.

Best of luck,
Scott

Hi all, I am running OS 9.2 on a G3 MT which I have the SMC router software installed. The connections are Ethernet on computer to SMC router. From the router I have Ethernet cat 5 cable going to a 24 port hub which from there goes to my 20 computers I have connected(all being G3's.

What I'd like to know is can I safely install Jaguar with out goofing up my
SMC software or my hardware?
If I happen to goof something up I am dead meat.
Thanks so much. Have a safe weekend and Happy Mom's Day to those mothers out
there!
Kim
