I haven't been active on the list in the last few months, but I need some assistance.

I am using a PM 7300, upgraded to a Sonnet G3/400, w/ an IBM 10GB drive, in addition to the stock configuration. Due to this large drive, it seems as if my Mac is starting to slow down recently - probably due to disk fragmentation.

I need information on a free, or very inexpensive, disk defragmenter for BOTH OS 9.x, and OS X 10.2.6 or greater (but not Panther). I have lots of financial obligations in May, so I cannot spend the usual $20 or more for software right now.

Also, if there is any additional free or inexpensive software utilities that may also be helpful, please feel free to recommend them. I use the OS X side almost exclusively these days, so programs for that OS would be preferred.

Thanks!

How much free space do you have on your HD. Although fragmentation does slow down reading and writing files, have a full disk will cause problems and increase fragmentation. Also, a 10 (ten) Gig drive is small especially if you are running both OS 9 and X on the same disk.
