er ... sorry, yes I meant digests... sudden panic, sense of loss caused me
to stumble with words... :)

I got #2715 today (a short one 3 days after #2714) so something has
happened? Terrifying world situation has given us all a new perspective?

OK, serious question: I hear it said to turn off VM if one has say 500 MB of
Ram or more... Why? Especially why if one has plenty of HD space? Is it that
when VM is on, the whole memory allocation is randomly or widely used (thus
immediately bringing on the slowness of seek and read of HDs into the
equation)? If real memory is always used first and VM used as "overflow"
then it seems to be a plus to have it on.
