OY!
I got my "new" harddrives today. (and thanks to Mr. Z. Hammad on the Swaplist!)
What I did was copied the old OS 8.6 internal HD to the external drive. Installed the new drive. Copied the System folder to the new drive, trashed the System, Finder and all the Free PPP stuff I could find, as I understand that Free PPP doesn't work under OS 9.x.
Booted off the 9.1 CD and installed 9.1. Rebooted off the internal 9.1 drive and proceeded to install OS 9.2.2.
Reboot. Copied all the other files from the external drive to the now 9.2.2 internal drive.
And discovered that there's no way I can dial out. There appears to be no interface between me and the modem. There's nothing in the menu bar and there seems to be no control panel or otherwise to mess with to get online.
Rather annoying, actually.
So I'm back to using the original OS 8.6 internal drive.
Any learned advice and/or solutions, URLS to download the needed software, et al, will be gratefully accepted!
In better news, my "new" Apple color OneScanner 600 arrived today, and after I downloaded the needed extension from Apple, it works great. It's smaller, lighter, faster and has a higher resolution than the first generation Apple color scanner.
