Tech Tools/Tech Tools Pro can save the PRAM image on the disk. It does this so it can so a restore of the manufacturer's information after a PRAM reset. Trouble is, this method doesn't fully clear the PRAM persistent values. For this ... and especially on a Beige G3 ... you need to do the Cmd-Opt-P-R function TEN times. Yes, sounds counter-Mac (counter-intuitive), but these persistent parameter, especially the ones which have to do with writing values into other chips (DRAM controller, EIDE/UATA controller, etcetera), do not "take" with the first, or even the fifth Cmd-Opt-P-R, and they won't "take" with a Tech Tools/Tech Tools Pro reset, either. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
