Too slow for browsing the web as text?? @ 7KB/s??

You've got to be kidding me!. That's damn fast. In fact, faster than any 56k modem would hope to get..
And certainly plenty fast for text browsing.

7 KB/s was unusual. I only got that for ftp. When I tried using a we b browser, the connection was
maybe a hundred times slower. When I used MacWWW, loading just the text from a page
sometimes would take a minute or more. On the other hand, telnet was fine.

So I suppose I really have two questions. Why isn't the ethernet connection faster, as fast as the
SCSI port can allow? And why is MacWWW so slow -- much, much slower than NCSA
Telnet and Fetch?

I realize I could be doing something wrong in setting up the internet connection, but I'm not sure
what. I'll start again, reinstall everything, and see if I get better results.
