Got a problem with a PowerMac G3 desktop.
Seems we can turn it on. It'll boot up. However, the display will be abysmally dark. 10 to 15 minutes later, it'll disappear entirely. It's like the monitor is going to sleep, but it can't be woken up.
high voltage trafo is tired, I remember growin up in the contryside we had piles of old tv-sets with different symptoms, if the contrast faded so that the screen became milkywhite, or unsharp, that was something that could be fixed, but if it faded into darkness, or started to get darker spots in the corners, or smaller picture proportions it was problems in the tube itself, which were to costly to fix,
