My two CPU upgrade cards (powerlogix, xlr8 both came with 1MB backside caches (on the card, on its back more or less literally). It is usually best to then remove the old external separate one (there are complex conditions governing this but this is the simplest safest strategy). With some CPU upgrades, one has choices for the backside cache size and I think you ccan just upgrade the backside too (more is more expensive of course).
