Anyone have any luck in managing bookmarks in Mozilla? Not in regard to
importing or exporting (this is a different topic). I have 1.2.1 and 1.3 and
they both have the same frustrating fault: in the Manage Bookmarks window,
can't move individual items out of folders, can't even delete them. Can
delete whole folders but not items within (unless they are folders
themselves). The delete button on the browser is dimmed (as are some other
buttons) unless a folder is selected. This makes it impossible to put links
at the top level and many other things...

That's strange. I've just done all of the things you mention without any problem, and I use Moz 1.2.1 under OS 9. It sounds like something in your installation may be hosed. I'm not an expert on Mozilla, so I couldn't begin to guess what.

<snip>

I've fired off bug reports to Mozilla (what a palaver that is!)

I'm not surprised you're not getting any help from that quarter. 1.2.1 was the last official release for OS 9, and they're not supporting it any longer.
