There are several REALLY excellent dirt-CHEAP 8-meg PCI video cards to watch out for. I have a ATI Radeon 7000 32-meg card in my Daystar (21" CRT)and a 8-meg ixMicro Ultimate Rez card in my 9600 (17 " CRT). There is a G3 in the 9600 and a G4 in the Daystar. I paid plenty for the ATI card. I get smoother scrolling and similar video response for just about everything with the 8-meg ixMicro card. ixMicro made the 8-meg Twin Turbo and 8-meg ix3D Ultimate Rez video cards for the high-end PCI Macs and they go on eBay for about $10.00 to $15.00. I have bought one of each within the past month for $9.95 and $11.00 and the software for both is still available on the internet. Read the reviews from MacAddict from 1998 or 1999. An excellent choice for vintage PCI Macs. My other favourite PCI video card is a 64-meg Voodoo5 card. Unfortunately I flogged it on eBay to pay for the Radeon card when I installed OSX on the Daystar (and now I wish I still had it). M -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
