The 80 to 68 pin adapter has a Molex 4-pin connector so the matching power supply cable (red-black-black-yellow) mates with it, the card providing power to the drive. I am not sure what you mean by "split power connector" unless it is a "Y" cable? If you are adding it as a 2nd drive place a jumper across ID 1 (assuming you main drive is ID 0) so it will be detected as ID 1. Placing a jumper across ID 1 will give the drive an ID 2.
