Hi again,
Well I finally got the 8600 to boot. I took all the ram out and moved them over one space. Then the machine booted fine. I ran techtools pro and it found bad ram. Then I ran it again and it didn't find anything. And the third time I ran it it didnt find anything. So now I am not sure what to do. Any ideas?
thanks, Pam

Try testing with one chip at a time. Did you ever get an error number ?
Use a RAM utility to repeat testing for thousands of itterations. Perhaps that will sort it out.
