> Booting from a Firewire Device

Thanks, Guys, for the info on booting from the external HD (firewire). Now,
one more question. Suppose after doing what you have said, I find I cannot
boot from the external, (and then suppose later, my internal HD dies), I do
have the original OS 9.1 CD, after putting it in the CD drive, how do I
"trash" the dead one, so I can reinstall? Or is this necessary? I think I
am in "brain fog" the last couple of days. LOL

When I "copied" the entire internal CK to the External one, it never occured
to me that maybe I couldn't just boot up from the copy, then reinstall any
or all of the "copied stuff" to the internal drive. I shall definitely use
your "recipe" to find out if it will boot from the EHD BEFORE I need to do
it.

Thanks a lot. Sorry to be so dense.
Ginny
