Has anyone here tried using an 8600 motherboard in a 7500-type case?
Can that be done? The only concerns I have would be the routing of
cables if the boards aren't quite laid out exactly the same. That,
and possibly different power requirements and power supply
connectors... Since I own neither an 8600 nor a 7x00, I can't just
go look... Can you guys help me out? Can this be done?

The board size and all other particulars is identical. A place for
everything, and everything in its place.

The power supply is different, however.

You will require a PSU from a 7300.

Given the above, it can be done.
