Hi Jamie,
I've had great luck on my 7600/200 running OS 9.2.2
It's very stable and quick enough for email, web
browsing, iTunes and simple card games.
If your machine is crashing every ten minutes,
then you need to find out what's wrong with your
hardware first.  I doubt that a different OS will
solve your instability problem.
