Thanks Tim, I am downloading.. but after asking I did find one.. but when I go to run some of the tests it says I need a CD with Macbench test files on it???? Was this normally available with the original download?? Do you or anyone else know?
Yep, you need the CD for some of the graphics and CDROM tests, IIRC. Many years ago, this was a supported testing product courtesy of "MacUser" magazine and its publisher (the USA MacUser, I think there's a British MacUser now). At that time, one simply emailed MacUser or filled in a form on their website and a while later they would send you the CDROM. Those days are long gone.
MacBench 4 does not require the CD for any (or only one?) of the tests, so if you're just trying to do a speed comparison you might try MacBench 4.
