I would like to install a Pioneer DVR-108 Superdrive and an ATA Card in a
9600. Am right to assume that not all ATA cards will support DVD drives?
I think that ACARD and SiiG Cards might support DVD and that sonnet cards do
not. Is that correct? Thank you Steve

I've run a DVD-ROM drive on both the VST UltraTek/66 and on an Acard 6280M (I'm not sure about that model number, but it's the non-RAID 133 card). I have heard of folks using various CDRW drives with ATA cards. I don't know if anyone has gotten a SuperDrive (remember when that was the name for the 1.44 floppy?) or a DVD-R drive working with one. I would try the Acard. In my experience it has better compatibility than the UltraTek. The UltraTek causes some kind of low level corruption/incompatibilty with the Fast Internal SCSI on PowerSurge (7500 - 9600) machines.

I can't speak from experience regarding the Sonnet cards.
