Installed batteries will last longer if power still on to motherboard.
turning off power strip puts pram maintenance on battery. Originally it
was claimed that lithium batteries would last 10 years, but they don't.
maybe 4 - 6 is more like it.
uninstalled batteries may last 10 years but....? All the usual gimmicks
like keeping them cool in fridge, etc. could help.
