Looks like the first HD has a security thing installed in it to lock
the HD unless you put in the right user ID and password.  If you don't
care about the info inside, see if you can reformat the HD using the
disk utility or HD setup.

Looks like you have a bigger problem with the second Mac.  did you
replace the battery?  try doing a few of those command-ctrl-P-R to zap
the PRAM to see if that helps.  Otherwise, I would try disconnecting
the HD and see if it'll run the CD.
