has anyone managed to install a usb card in a 7500 or

Requires 9.0.

OS 8.6 can have USB also. The first iMacs had built-in USB and came with OS 8.6.

The first iMacs came with OS 8.1 (and had USB). But that was an iMac specific version of OS 8.1.
