'Evening All,

I'm looking at buying a "new" monitor and, as usual, want to stick with the
devil I know.

I'm currently running an AppleVision 750 with 2 built-in ADB ports. What
other 17" monitors besides the AppleVision 1710/1710AV and AppleVision 750
have built-in ADB ports? Is there a list of ADB port-equipped monitors
available somewhere?

According to LEM, certain serial number ranges of the 1710 are problem
prone:

> After about a year of complaints, Apple admitted the extent of the problem and
> offered anyone who owned a 1710 in a specified serial number range a one year
> warranty extension. This was later extended through the end of 1998 for the
> black screen problem.
>
> But the worst aspect of the 1710 fiasco is this: most people who had the
> monitor repaired once ended up sending it in for service several times.

Does anyone happen to know what that range is?

Finally, are there powered ADB hubs out there that anyone is using/has used
and can recommend? I'm kind of half-heartedly looking at cheap LCDs, and
maybe an ADB hub will free me from AppleVision bondage.

Best,

James Fraser
