If you installed Norton Filesaver (or made a copy of its directory with Disk Warrior) you might be able to recover most/all files. You could try to read the IDE drive inside the box by mounting it to another Mac with IDE controller like a Beige G3. A SCSI bridge (Iodata or Acard) lets you read it with your 9600.
