Bought a hard drive for cheap on eBay a few minutes ago, but I forgot that I don't have an extra drive sled. Any of you guys know a good way to make a hard drive sled for a PM 8500?
I used a HD in my 9500 with no sled... couldn't get a sled. I just fitted it in with a bit of softish foam plastic above & below... enough to, pinch it in place ebut not to interfere with cooling. It would probably have been better coolingwise to fit the plastic on either SIDE of the HD.
Failing that, get a piece of galvanized steel sheet, stainless, aluminum, platinum or whatever, cut to size with tinsnips or gardening shears, bend with pliers and drill holes for the HD and the front plate. Shouldn't be too difficult. Just make sure that it cannot contact the underpinnings of the HD!
