Does only it happen within the first 30 mins of turning the monitor on? If so its probably the tube expanding slightly whilst warming up, this can cause the mounts to shift slightly (causing the 'cracking' sound).
Nothing really to be worried about, a few of my monitors do this after initially being turned on. If it happens quite a bit, even after having the monitor turned on for quite a while, then something could be wrong. Anyone else have any ideas?
