If a way to not let her use the machine is needed, you can ensure it needs a
key of sorts to turn on the power. I have an SE30 that has a lock built into
the side. You can do this too, but you need to open up and put the mains
active at least through a switch, either hidden cleverly or a keyed switch
as with my SE30 (I play chess on this machine and keep games, my opening
moves discoveries are safe).

A friend lived in a block of flats. Her washing machine was on the ground
floor in a place accessible to many. I replaced her standard 3 point plug
with a very unorthodox one. I gave her a small extension lead that I made
up, one end mated with the "unorthodox" one and the other ended normally to
be plugged into the wall socket.
