 I just installed a Tempo UATA66 PCI card in my PM8600/G3. I bought a

Possibly, most ATA cards in an Old World machine are affected by the 8
GB size barrier so you either have to go back to SCSI or find a
compatible ATA card.

I have a tempo 66 card and 1 40 gb maxtor + 80 gb IBM + an LG cdburner attached to it.
no problem at all (OS 8->9) 8 GB size barrier what are you talkin about ??? OS X ??

Are you using an 80-conductor IDE cable?

yes that could make it better, but I used lesser cables and speed was the only difference
IF I remember correctly.

The only thing that gave me a headache was the master/slave settin AND on the maxtor the jumpersetting,
the jumpersetting was to be exactly upside down and mirrored compared to what the maxtor factory sheet suggested
for mac, I ve seen some other listers that experienced the same.
