Oh, sorry Bruce, yes I've un-installed and re-installed the app -- and tried
different versions too (always a nuisance because PR requires an involved
on-line validation and de-validation process every time you do that). I'm
using a serial port connection to the Epson 1520. I thought of the "letting
go" issue and tried closing the printer from the app before I quit. But that
hasn't solved it. I called PowerRIP but all they had to say was, "nobody's
ever complained about THAT before." Guess there's a first time for
everything, huh? I'm going to check the serial port connections again and
then build back up to OS 9.2.2 and the latest version of PR (which I've
tried once before) and see how that goes. I'll let you know.

What are your thoughts on re-formatting the drive (a nasty job) in order to
tackle this kind of problem? Is that sort of like hunting flies with an
elephant gun?
