in the same vein, can i use the same RAM sticks i bought for my 6360 as
extra RAM in this 8500?
Maybe, I don't know the 6360 at all.
Mine was upgraded from stock and had 8, 8, 16, 16, 64, 64 and 32 MB sticks inside of it, but not in that order. I think the 8 MB sticks were the ones shipped with the system.here's some math: if my apple menu says this 8500 has 208MB of RAM in it, what is the likely breakdown of sticks and their capacities in my slots? [have not yet gotten to jacking open the famous aggravating case].
<shameless plug>
I'm selling the pair of 8 MB sticks and the pair of 16 MB sticks on the swap list right now if you're interested.

how many RAM slots does the 8500 have insisde it? what's the maxThere are eight RAM slots, four video RAM slots and one L2 cache slot (also an unused ROM SIMM slot). The maximum for one slot is 64 MB according to Apple, but 128 MB DIMM's will work without a hitch. FPM or EDO doesn't matter, but EDO gives better performance. RAM interleaving is enabled if you install the RAM in banks.
RAM i can put in each slot? interleaving, or no? FPM or EDO, or does it
matter?
[yeah, i know, this is old stuff we've discussed endlessly, but since
I've just joined the ranks of the 8500 brigade, humor me, wouldja?]
