The old ADB-type KVM switches included a Mini-DIN 8 transfer function, which was intended for the modem, but certainly could have been used for any serial device attached to the modem or the printer ports. These ADB KVMs are long since obsolete, but there are still some Mini-DIN 8 only transfer switches out there. 2 to 1 and 4 to 1 were made in both KVM and M/P.
