128 MB sticks are best.

Although 64 MB sticks are also available, these are much more expensive 
on a per megabyte basis.

Yes, the machine is worth saving especially as the 250 MHz version is has 
the fast "Mach 5" motherboard, and the power supply and case can 
accommodate a HUGE number of drives.

NBC used 8600s for off-line video post production, and I'm sure there are 
stil some Avid users out there who swear by (not at) their 8600s.

Only pre-G3 Mac with full A-V capability (the 8500 does, too, but its 
case is a complete disaster).
