Every upgrade makes more of an overhead demand on the processor. I thing th disk I have is OS X 10.0.3.

Ok, for one, OS X has gotten *faster* with each incarnation. 10.0.3 is largely unusable. I'd go at least 10.2. The G3 will support it quite nicely. The 604's though, I'd leave at 9.

And why don't you get a good job so you can get one of those new slick Mac G5 iMacs at least?

I have a good job. I also have She Who Must Be Obeyed who puts a, how shall I put it, damper on my toy acquisition habit by bringing up all this horrible practical stuff like 'We need a new roof.' 'We need a new car.'

Feh! For one, it only leaks when it rains, and the car still goes...mostly. Where's her priorities?? ;-P
