I have a 9600 with a non-stock Twin Turbo 128 4 MB card. I want to
put a Radeon 7000 for MAC card in this machine and was wondering if I
could run both to get dual monitor function. the Radeo only has 1 port

I once had a Twin Turbo with one port and ran another monitor off of the native Mac port on the machine. But they both " mirrored " (?) each other rather than one being the extension of the other.

I want my work screen on one monitor and the extensive menus for
tools etc on the other.

I have a Twin Turbo (stock) and a Radeon Mac Edition in a 9600 and I can have them mirrored or not. You configure them in the Monitors Control Panel. It is handy in applications like PhotoShop to have all the pallets on a separate screen (even a cheap small old one).

That sounds very cool Nancy ! Thanks for the info !

Good to hear from someone with the same setup. I wasn't sure there
would not be a conflict somewhere.

There's a used equipment store in town that should have a cheap monitor for me.
