Non matching in itself does not in general cause slowdown. That is different
to "not being as fast or efficient" as having matched memory. There is
refresh rate and other stuff that is involved here and non-matching can
bring all down to lowest common denominator. But that should not mean any
real debilitating slowdown. Safest may be to match but this is not always so
practical...
