Often I see that for video work 700MHz is recommended. Maybe a
processor upgrade would solve your problem?

Greg is asking about a G4. for which there are much higher rated processors.
None of which fit our Legacy PowerMacs for which the manufacturers
stopped development when they reached 700-800.
I wish a 1+ GHz cpu could be crammed into my 9600. I Have seen G$
Sawtooths that handles Final Cut on 400 MHz !
But that's comparing quite different beasts.
