I forget who suggested the RAM disk as browser cache idea but thanks
for bringing it up again.
Without me paying attention since Friday my cache for Netscape had
crept up to the point where I could not even trash mail in Eudora
light!
Zero k avail;able and not enough memory for that operation!
The days of browsing had taken a toll.
Friday I had 120 MB available on a 2 Gig drive. This is usual for
that drive. By last night zero k ! What the - ?
It took 30 minutes to trash the first 3 MB out of the cache! It took
an hour for the rest by drag and drop. I guess I was too tired to
figure out that by then I had enough space to use FileDeamon to do it
in bigger batches. I cleared out the 120 MB again and set up the RAM
disk.
Sweetness !
No more constipation.
And I don't know why there seemed to be a tremendous surge of cached
files other than more web searches than usual but it was all crap
anyway. links to downloads and such. Stuff I won't need again.
