Marcelus, Try re-installing the driver on your hard disk. It worked for me when I had a system that was freezing on shutdown, regardless of what drive or volume I started up with.
You'll probably have to boot from your 8.1 CD and use Drive Setup that's on the CD, but I'm not sure. Actually, before trying the above, you might try disconnecting the hard disk and booting from the CD. If the problem continues, then you can probably ignore the above suggestion. - Aaron >Reply-To: "PCI PowerMacs" <[email protected]> >To: "PCI PowerMacs" <[email protected]> >Date: Sat, 18 Jun 2005 04:36:46 -0300 >Subject: [PCI] The 7600 that doesn't turn on right >From: MaGioZal <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >Hi, > >I'm Marcelus, 30 years old from São Paulo City, Brazil*, owner of a PowerMac >7600/132 CPU with 2GB HD/16MB RAM running Mac OS 8.1. > >Well, this CPU seems to have a problem: it doesn't turn on or shut down >properly.
