Subject: Re: [PCI] Power mac 9600/300
Sorry that I wasn't very clear. Where do I plug the
power cables on the processor since there is no power
adapter anywhere near the processor slot.
TIA.
Pete.

No instruction sheet with this?
Maybe if you go to the manufacturers website the info will be there.
I have just seen ( in a PC) a cable that adapts the large PSU 4 pin
connector to a smaller connector for a Firewire/USB card but have no
idea if anything like that is necessary to run your ZIF adaptor. In
fact why not just try to fire it up? If it does need additional power
which I very much doubt
the worst that will happen is it won't boot..
To the OP, don't do this! There is much worse. The power may be to fire up a
fan to keep the processor cool. You could ruin the thing.

(BTW. The OP said in his first post that the paper work was unclear, not
that it was missing.)

The OP later said the system booted . He just wanted to know what to
do with the pins. He felt funny that there was nothing to plug into
them.
I get hilarious when I look inside any of My Macs in that case.
