Yes, you should be able to add an second internal SCSI drive just fine...
The Power Mac 9500 has SCSI interface throughout the base system...

Hi,
I am sure this is a simple question, but I don't know
the answer, so I needed to ask someone. I have a
PowerMac 9500/132 I bought in 1995. I upgraded the
processor in 2001 or so with a Sonnet PCI G3/500 Mhz,
which works well. It has a good amount of RAM, I
think 768 MB, and I also put in a PCI USB adaptor --
only one USB port of the 4 works, but that's ok with
me. It only has a 1 GB Hard drive, and running OS 9.1
means there is not much space for my apps and games.
Even using a 256 MB flashdrive is not enough. I want
to add a SCSI hard drive (around 4-18 GB) to make the
system more usable.
All that was background; here's the simple question:
If I get an internal SCSI drive, can I add it to the
existing hard drive and not lose all the stuff already
on the drive? I don't even know if the existing drive
is SCSI. I haven't opened it up yet to look around,
or pulled out my manual. I just thought I'd ask
because I think many of you could probably answer my
question and perhaps offer some advice on the process.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jolien
