OK, been using Fetch to look at mirrors.aol.com (info-mac directory) for a version or JPEGView that is newer than 3.3 (runs native on my PM 5400) and I cannot seem to find one. Any other FTP sites that Ic an try? Most that were in my Fetch bookmarks no longer seemt o work.
*Runs off to try Anarchie* Also, do I need to do anything special to install 8.6 (like wipe the HD) or can I just install it while all the stuff on the HD is left alone? Steve PS...I only have 80M RAM (Yes, I know, I need more and as my budget permits I plan to get more). However, so far it runs the programs it is used for (iCab, Better Telnet, Fetch, JPEGView, Anarchie, MT-Newswatcher 3.0) On 1/21/06, Len Gerstel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > On Saturday, January 21, 2006, at 04:33 PM, david_elmo wrote: > > >> From: Stephen Conrad <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> > >> I have a 5400/180 running 8.5 and sometimes when I go to look at a pic > >> I have downloaded I get this error with JPEGView 3.3 running native on > >> my PPC (so it says in the Info abou it) > >> > >> Corrupt JPEG data found (unsupported SOF makertype 0xc2) > >> > >> Now, if I then open PictureViewer and go o look at the same picture it > >> works just fine. > >> > >> Any ideas why this happens (with JPEGView) and why it works with > >> PictureVie= > >> wer? > > > > Because... because... it might not be a jpeg and your program is for > > jpegs? > > Just found the following via google at > > http://www.faqs.org/faqs/jpeg-faq/part1/ > > Old decoders that don't handle progressive JPEG will often give rather > cryptic error messages when fed a progressive JPEG.
