2006 Pacific Coast Singlehanded Sailing Championships

Exit I-405 (from north or south) on to CA-90 East
After end of freeway, turn left on Mindanao Way (2nd light)
Turn left on Admiralty Way (4th light)
Turn right on Fiji way at end of Admiralty
At end of Fiji, follow driveway through gate, past
apartments
Merge on to bike path, venue will be on the right
1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing
(2005-2008), the
prescriptions of U.S. Sailing, the ICSA Procedural Rules as modified
by the
Notice of Race and by the sailing instructions, all of which
supplement and
modify the former.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Each qualified PCCSC school may send up to four competitors in each
division.
3. SCHEDULE:
Radials will sail all day Friday.
If at least 5 races are not completed on Friday, Radials will sail
Saturday until either 5 races are completed or until 2pm.
Full Rigs will sail Saturday and Sunday. If the Radials are
still sailing on Saturday, the Full Rigs will be postponed
until the Radials finish their series.
Friday, Sept 22
11am warning for Radials
7pm Scheduling meeting, Location will be provided at skippers meeting
Saturday, Sept 23
11am warning for Radials, if necessary
11am Full Rig, or as soon as Radials are completed, no later than 3pm.
Last start before 2pm for Radials
Sunday, Sept 24
11am warning Full Rig
Last start before 4:30pm
After race festivities are planned for Friday and Saturday
4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be provided at registration.
5. BOATS AND SAILS:
Class legal Lasers must be provided by competitors. Women will sail
with the Radial Rig
Men will sail with the Full Rig. Charters are not available from
UCLA, but smaller teams are encouraged to seek charters from larger
teams with more resources if possible.
6. FORMAT:
There will be no rotations. A break every two races will be provided.
A maximum number of races will be sailed within the given time limits.
3 races shall constitute a series.
7. RACING:
The race committee may finish a boat still racing in her current
position if
that boat will delay the start of the next race. Such boats shall
proceed
immediately to the next start.
8. SCORING:
Scoring will be in accordance with PCCSC and ICSA rules.
9. SAFETY:
The Santa Monica Bay is a open-ocean venue. Each competitor is
responsible
for providing adequate clothing and safety equipment for himself or
herself. PFD's
shall be worn at all times while on the water.
10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.

liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in
conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
11. HOUSING:
Limited housing will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

12. PARKING
Parking is available at the Dock 52 lot on Fiji Way. Drop off
passengers, boats, and gear before parking, rides will be available
for drivers back to the venue.
Car-top transportation of boats is appreciated when possible due to
confined space at the venue, but trailers are manageable.
